What is a Community Action Agency?

A community action agency receives funding from the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). These agencies assist low-income participants in increasing self-sufficiency, improving living conditions, owning a stake in the community, and achieving their potential. Oswego County Opportunities is one of approximately 1,100 agencies, nationwide, designated as eligible entities funded by the Community Services Block Grant.
