OCO After School programs promote the social and emotional needs of students in their home schools. Programming starts immediately after school providing supervised activities for youth in a safe, structured enviroment. Each site is unique to its school and participants.
Youth have a voice in activities that are offered in each site through program council and student surveys. Youth also have choice in which activities they will participate in. Each site is registered with NYS Office of Children and Family Services School Age Child Care and follows SACC regulations. Activities are supervised by trained staff with a ratio of 1 staff person to 10-15 students depending on students age.
Students are required to have completed applications turned in before attending the after school program. Parents are asked to update contact information on a regurlar basis and provide written notification of any changes.
A typical day in after school includes Welcome, Attendance, Snack, Physical Activity, Homework Help, STEM Activities, Creative Activities, Life Skills, Games and Technology, followed by sign out and departures.
