Programs Offered Through LVOC

Basic Literacy:
Any student 16 years or older who has difficulty with Reading skills and is out of school, is eligible forour program. LVOC will tutor an adult to read up to the 8th grade reading level. With the help of our resource materials, tutors have access to many different tools to teach an adult to read. We will also help them with writing and simple math skills. Some of our students have learning difficulties and we have appropriate materials for use with thesestudents.


English Literacy:
Any student 16 years or older who has difficulty with English language skills and is out ofschool,iseligible for our program. LVOCwill tutor an adult to help them improve their English speaking, reading & writing. With the help of our resource materials, tutors have access to many different tools to teach an adult to read. We will also help them with writing and simple math skills. Some of our students have learning difficulties and we have appropriate materials for use with these students.
 

Computer Literacy:
LVOC has a computer literacy program in place for those learners already working with an LVOC tutor. Basic computer skills are taught in the LVOC office with several computer workstations available for learner use. Learners progress at their own speed with help from their tutor. The computer lab is available by appointment Monday through Friday 9am through 3pm.
