SUPERVISED VISITATION SPECIALIST
Grade 8 - Start Rate $14.41 per hour
Full-time – 37.5 hours/week with flexibility required
Monday, Tuesday and Friday - Noon to 8:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday - 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Location: Riverscape Office - Fulton
Crisis & Development Services has announced the availability of a Supervised Visitation Specialist position to work at assigned sites serving families who participate in supervised visitation. Candidate:
Develop a trusting relationship with the child; invest in and protect the child.
Identify client needs, solve problems and assist clients in setting personal priorities.
Monitor emotional, physical and boundary issues during visitation.
Assist in developing and carrying out the visitation safety plan.
Develop and present training to community members about supervised visitation issues.
Responsible for maintaining the safety of clients at all times before, during, and directly after visitation.
Should have an awareness of county resources, and the geographical layout of the county.
Must be able to relate professionally with staff, service providers, and clients; utilize good judgment, integrity, tact, and courtesy.
Must be able to work in a supportive and non-judgmental manner, display resourcefulness, and have the ability to maintain professional conduct and participant’s confidentiality.
Must understand the effects of victimization on families/children and awareness of childhood development.
Must be familiar with domestic violence issues, child/sexual abuse, safety planning and counseling.
Must have the ability to establish/maintain a variety of working relationships.
Must be organized, motivated, resourceful, and be able to work independently.
Qualifications include an Associate’s degree in a human services area; and 1 – 3 years related job experience with children, youth, families or similar population; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training. NYS Driver’s License with a driving record within agency policy and access to a reliable vehicle required.
