National Grid to Help Sponsor OCO “Giving Thanks” Event

Oswego County Opportunities Development Coordinator Bridget Dolbear has announced that National Grid has signed on as a Gold Level sponsor for OCO’s “Giving Thanks” fundraiser. The event will be held Friday, November 2, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Lake Ontario Convention, Event and Conference Center in Oswego. Proceeds from “Giving Thanks” will be used in support of OCO’s “Success4Families” campaign, which will help fund a variety of services that feed, clothe and house families in need as well as empower, support and equip families for success.

NRG Powers up OCO Fundraiser

    

Bridget Dolbear, development coordinator for Oswego County Opportunities (OCO), has announced that NRG will be a Silver Level sponsor for the agency’s “Giving Thanks” fundraiser.  The event will benefit OCO’s “‘Success4Families”campaign, which will help fund a variety of services that feed, clothe and house families in need as well as empower, support and equip families for success.

“NRG is committed to helping the communities in which we live and work,” said NRG Plant Manager Kerry Ann Colville. “We want to help power the lives of the people in need and have partnered with Oswego County Opportunities because their mission to provides services that empower people, support communities, and change lives aligns so well with ours.”

“Giving Thanks” will be held Friday, Nov. 2, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Lake Ontario Convention, Event and Conference Center in Oswego. The event will feature a number of food stations offering autumn inspired delicacies and refreshments from Oswego County’s most popular restaurants including: Alex’s on the Water, Canale’s Restaurant, La Parrilla, The Press Box, Mimi’s Drive-In, The Eis House, GS Steamers, and Tailwater Lodge. Additional stations will offer choices from CiTi Culinary Arts, Appledale Orchards, and OCO Nutrition Services. Wine and beer samples from Eagle Beverage will pair with the foods featured at each station.

The evening will also feature a performance from singer/guitarist Gary Carpentier from NBC’s “The Voice”.

 


CiTi Students display culinary skills at OCO fundraiser

CiTi students will be providing an assortment of fresh baked breads including carrot, pumpkin, banana, and garlic. “We are pleased to be partnering with CiTi,” said Dolbear. “Their baked goods were a tasty addition to last year’s menu and we are looking forward to this year’s treats.”

OCO’s “Giving Thanks” event will have food stations featuring harvest season delicacies from some of Oswego County’s Favorite restaurants including; Alex’s on the Water, Canale’s Restaurant, La Parrilla, The Press Box, Mimi’s Drive-In, The Eis House, GS Steamers, Tailwater Lodge, and Mill House Market. Additional stations will offer choices from CiTi Culinary Arts, Appledale Orchards, and OCO Nutrition Services. Wine and beer samples from Eagle Beverage will pair with the foods featured at each station.


“The Voice” Star Gary Carpentier to perform at OCO’s “Giving Thanks”

Singer-songwriter Gary Carpentier will provide the entertainment for OCO’s annual “Giving Thanks” fundraiser.

Oswego native Gary Carpentier has spent the past six years performing throughout Central New York and beyond. He rose to prominence with his performance on NBC’s Emmy Award winning television series “The Voice” where he was the final contestant on Team Adam Levine. Since his appearance on “The Voice” Carpentier (pictured here) released his first EP, “My Time”, and is currently recording a second release at SubCat Studios in Syracuse.

Carpentier will bring his unique sound, which he describes as indie/alternative with pop, R & B, soul, along with components from other styles of music, to OCO’s “Giving Thanks” fundraiser on Friday, November 2 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Lake Ontario Convention, Event and Conference Center in Oswego.

“Giving Thanks” will have food stations featuring harvest season delicacies from some of Oswego County’s Favorite restaurants including; Alex’s on the Water, Blue Moon Grill, Canale’s Restaurant, Garafolo’s, La Parrilla, The Press Box, Mimi’s Drive-In, The Eis House, GS Steamers, Tailwater Lodge, and Mill House Market. Additional stations will offer choices from Cake Commander, CiTi Culinary Arts, Appledale Orchards, and OCO Nutrition Services. Foods at each station will be enhanced with wine and beer pairings from Eagle Beverage.
