The “Lucky 13” Bowl-A-Fun takes place on Saturday, April 13, from noon – 6 pm at Lakeview Lanes in Fulton.

Live acoustic music will be provided by several local groups in the lounge area all afternoon. There will also be activities for children to enjoy.

First up is “Gypsy Red” from noon to 1 pm, featuring OCO’s own Cherie Sardella and husband John. The duo present folk and rock music. Next, there will be country, rock and oldies music by “Nina Dunlap from 1 to 2:30 pm. The entertainment continues with “The Burnet Gaels” from 2:30 to 5:30 pm, featuring OCO’s Patty O’Connor and her sister performing folk and country music.

Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County is organizing free activities for children. LVOC will offer a reading and simple craft activity for preschoolers based on Eric Carle's book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?"  They will also offer an activity integrating reading, exercise and nutrition for children from preschool through middle school.  There will be face painting available for all ages from noon to 3 pm by art students from Mexico High School and their teacher Barb Sheldon.  Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
There will also be a chicken barbecue in the Lakeview Lanes parking lot, starting at 1:30 pm until sold out. Dinners are $8 and include a half chicken, salt potatoes and macaroni salad.

This year’s event was dubbed the “Lucky 13” Bowl-A-Fun because it is taking place on 4-13-13. “Thirteen is usually associated with superstition and bad luck, but we’re turning that around and making it a lucky day, with many chances to win raffles, door prizes, silent auction items, and more!”  Cooper-Currier stated.

The “Lucky 13” Bowl-A-Fun takes place from noon – 6:00 pm at Lakeview Lanes in Fulton. Registration fee is $75 per five-person team, with choice of flights: Noon - 2:30 pm or 3:00 - 5:30 pm (first come, first served). Businesses and individuals are invited to donate door prizes for the raffles and silent auction, and major sponsors are being solicited as well.

“If you can’t participate in our activities on April 13, you can still help,” Cooper-Currier continued. “We are accepting pledges from the community towards the event, and we are also selling raffle tickets at $5 each or 3 for $13. We have three great prizes: Over $400 worth of camping gear, a getaway for two to Vernon Downs Casino, and a dinner cruise for two on Skaneateles Lake or the Erie Canal. Call 598-4717 to get tickets.”

Also, everyone is encouraged to bring at least one non-perishable food item and/or a personal care item for OCO to distribute to the homeless.

For registration or sponsor information, or to donate a door prize, contact OCO at 598-4717.
