After School - In collaboration with community stakeholders, OCO After School provides youth of Oswego County with experiential learning opportunities that encourage the development of 21st century skills, in a safe and welcoming environment.
Community Schools –A community school is a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources that allows the school to become the center of the community open to everyone through extended hours. Improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities are a result of an integrated approach that focuses on academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement.
Discovery Learning Center is a licensed center offering quality child care for children ages 18 months to 12 years. Staff utilize a research-based curriculum focused on language & literacy, creative representation, music, movement, logic & mathematics, and social development. Children enjoy active learning, or the “hands-on” approach, implemented in all of the classrooms!
Head Start provides a quality prekindergarten program for three and four year old children. School readiness is the primary goal of Head Start and is accomplished with Early Education Teachers implementing a research-based curriculum. Family engagement, health, and nutrition are integral parts of the services offered to children and families. Head Start serves all nine school districts with locations in Cleveland, Fulton, Oswego, Phoenix and Williamstown.
Literacy Volunteers provides one-on-one tutoring of adults in basic English communication, literacy and math skills. Volunteers are certified through tutor training and matched with a learner for two hours per week. Literacy Volunteers offers services throughout Oswego County.
Universal Pre-Kindergarten is a half-day program funded through contracts with the Fulton and Phoenix School Districts. The centers implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with NY State Early Learning Standards and emphasizes school readiness and social development.
