OCO After School programs promote the social and emotional needs of students in their home schools. Programming starts immediately after school providing supervised activities for youth in a safe, structured environment. Each site is unique to its school and participants. Our programs are informed by community needs and have pivoted in response to COVID-19 restrictions in partnering school districts. This has included offering virtual After School programming at some sites.

OCO After School prioritizes youth voice and leadership through program council, student surveys, and choice in which activities they will participate in. Each site is registered with NYS Office of Children and Family Services School Age Child Care and follows SACC regulations. Activities are supervised by trained staff with a ratio of 1 staff person to 10-15 students depending on students age. A typical day in after school includes Welcome, Attendance, Snack, Physical Activity, Homework Help, STEM Activities, Creative Activities, Life Skills, Games and Technology, followed by sign out and departures.

Parents/guardians are required to register their child before program participation. Parents are asked to update contact information on a regular basis and provide written notification of any changes.
